We’re so glad you’re interested in becoming a DOROT Friendly Visitor. To support you in this new volunteer experience, we’d like to invite you to a one-hour orientation session where we’ll share about the Friendly Visiting program.
As a reminder, Friendly Visiting is an in-person program offered in Manhattan and Westchester, and all Friendly Visitors must be 18 or older. Friendly Visitors visit older adults in their homes on a weekly or monthly basis. If you can’t manage an in-person commitment, we have many other volunteer opportunities that you can do from home. To learn more about these remote opportunities or if you are interested in a more general overview of volunteer opportunities at DOROT, register for a General Orientation.
Please note that the next Friendly Visiting Orientation will take place IN PERSON, at DOROT, on Wednesday May 13th from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. If you'd like to attend a ZOOM orientation, please register for a General Orientation where you will learn more about the Friendly Visitng Program, in additional to other programs here at DOROT.
Kindly note, if you have already attended a General Orientation and are interested in moving forward as a Friendly Visitor, there is no need to attend the Friendly Visiting Orientation, instead, please reach out to us at friendlyvisiting@dorotusa.org
Any questions? For Friendly Visiting in Manhattan, feel free to contact us at friendlyvisiting@dorotusa.org and for Friendly Visiting in Westchester, please contact us at infowestchester@dorotusa.org for more information. For general volunteer inquires, contact us at volunteers@dorotusa.org.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
