  • Please see below for intergenerational opportunities that are available to Adults 65+ throughout the year. Provided are brief descriptions of each.

  • Weekly Home Visits

    Make connections with teens from the comfort of home (limited to the Upper West and Upper East Side of Manhattan).

  • Civic Spirit 

    Older adults meet with high school students to discuss American History. Celebrate the highs and lows of our nation. 

  • Intergenerational Chess

    From beginners to experts, all are welcome. DOROT’s Intergenerational Chess program is about strengthening skills and creating friendships across the chessboard. Each week older adults play chess with experienced chess players who are in grades 6-12. The teens are all capable of teaching and playing individuals with a range of chess abilities, so no previous chess experience is required. A Chess Master is also on site to provide help, guidance and game strategies to players.

  • Tech Help

    From smart phones to tablets and computers, teens will be given the tools and preparation to assist DOROT adults navigate the technologies that keeps us just an app away! Register for each session individually. 

  • Tea & Chat

    DOROT adults meet with high school students for games and sharing stories.

  • B-Mitzvah Experience

    Join a cohort of pre-teens (11-13) for lively discussions and fun activities around Jewish values and traditions. Share laughter, debate ideas, and join in creating a caring and joyful intergenerational community. This is a seven-session service program, in person at DOROT on Sundays.
